Jason
Jason
Jason was the golden boy of Greece when he returned with the Golden Fleece. (Extra points for rhyming!) Don't go thinking he did it on his own, though. He had a magic ship called the Argo and his crew of Argonauts to help him on his epic quest. The Argonauts weren't just any old crew, either. They were a "who's who" of Greek heroes; Heracles, Orpheus, Atalanta, and Castor and Pollux all helped him get the gold. Then, of course, there was Medea, the witch who became Jason's wife. Without her magic, Jason never would've returned home triumphant. Like a lot of Greek heroes, though, Jason's life ended in tragedy. When he decided to dump Medea for a shiny young princess, she went crazy and killed their kids. Gulp.
